'Game of Thrones' Season 7: Ed Sheeran Reveals His Character's Fate; Pilou Asbaek Talks Euron's Arc

The upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" will have a few famous guest stars once again, and that includes Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran. But fans of the British singer do not have to worry about his fate on the show, as Sheeran has revealed that his character will make it out alive.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Sheeran did not reveal his character details, but he did give fans a little teaser. "I do know which role I am going to play. I don't die in it, I don't die," the singer said. "I'm only in it for like five minutes."

It can be recalled that Sheeran was cast in a guest appearance on the widely popular HBO series because actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, is a big fan of the singer. But it has also been revealed that Sheeran would not have been cast if it were not for Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody.

Sheeran recounted the time he asked Lightbody to get him a cameo role on "Game of Thrones" back in 2012. "It's been five years so it's finally come true," he said.

As for what season 7 has in store for viewers, fans can expect Euron Greyjoy to take a more villainous role. Season 6 saw Euron going after his own kin, Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara (Gemma Whelan), and ordering his men to build a thousand ships to court Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

Pilou Asbaek, who plays Euron, recently spoke to MTV about his character's arc this season. When asked how much trouble Euron is going to cause, Asbaek replied, "Enough to get satisfied — good satisfied." However, he refrained from revealing any further details because he is very much against spoilers.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is still three months away, premiering much later than usual. In order to tide fans over, the show released the official promo, titled "Long Walk," not too long ago. "Game of Thrones" characters can also be seen in the new HBO promo, including Daenerys, Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), all in costume.
