'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Premiere Revealed by Cast Member; New Teaser Shows Important Piece of New Season
One of the secrets that HBO has been keeping about "Game of Thrones" season 7 may have been revealed by cast member Liam Cunningham.
As fans know, they will be waiting for the show's return longer than they ever did and it looks like there will be several months of waiting left.
During an interview with The Independent, Cunningham, who plays the role of Davos Seaworth in the largely followed fantasy epic, let the cat out of the bag about the premiere date of "Game of Thrones" season 7.
"I've been disappointing various people around the world because it was meant to come out in April. It's July now, I think," Cunningham candidly revealed.
"There's going to be a launch and something special happening this year for the premiere. The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the final season starts again as far as I know in September," he went on to say.
A July premiere for "Game of Thrones" season 7 makes sense as the start of the production was delayed for several months. It is also in line with the speculations based on the said delay.
Cunningham has revealed a few days back that "Game of Thrones" season 7 will pave the way for the much-awaited meeting and possible alliance of important characters.
The actor teased that the penultimate season of the multi-award winning HBO behemoth will be a culmination of the events and characters built up in several disparate storylines in the previous seasons.
With several months ahead of the highly anticipated "Game of Thrones" season 7 premiere, HBO is thankfully helping fans get by the drought. The network recently released an "In Production" tease, where the Oathkeeper was showcased.
The Oathkeeper is, of course, Brienne's (Gwendoline Christie) Valyrian steel sword. In the "Game of Thrones" season 7 teaser, the amazing-looking weapon was being held by an unseen individual.
