'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Premiere Date, Spoilers, Latest News: Mastodon Guitarist Brent Hinds to Appear as a Wildling

Several celebrity cameos are expected in the upcoming seventh season of HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones."

Aside from New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, "Game of Thrones" showrunners recently revealed that singer-musician Ed Sheeran will appear in a cameo role in season 7. However, the popular singer will not be the only musical guest confirmed to appear on the show this season.

In an episode of Hatebreed singer Jamey Jasta's podcast, "The Jasta Show," Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds confirmed that he will be coming back to the fantasy series for the second time after his appearance as a Wildling in season 5. Given the events that transpired in the season 5 episode "Hardhome," Hinds will not be returning as a Wildling in season 7 but will portray a White Walker instead.

"I just came back from my second cameo 'Game of Thrones,'" Hinds said. "This time, I had my broken leg and they were like, 'You're doing the best zombie walk, we want you to come right towards the camera. I want you to drag this axe behind you.' I'm like a reborn, come to life Wildling turning into a White Walker."

It remains unconfirmed whether Hinds' fellow band members will also be appearing in the show, though his bandmates also played came roles in season 5.

"Game of Thrones" co-creator DB Weiss is a known fan of Mastodon. The band also wrote the original song "White Walker" for the series' mixtape, "Catch the Throne Vol. 2."

Aside from the confirmed cameos of several celebrities, there are many other things to look forward to in "Game of Thrones" season 7.

Through the season will only air seven episodes, it will also be the season in which many of the show's characters will finally come together, according to TV Guide. Many of the show's main cast members were spotted filming scenes together in a location known to be the site for the Dragonpit in King's Landing. This season, many fans also expect a full-blown reunion between the remaining members of the Stark family.

The highly anticipated seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, July 16 on HBO.
