'Game of Thrones' Season 7: Director Teases Bigger Dragons; Mastodon's Brent Hinds Returns

When Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) rides her majestic beasts once again, fans will notice a big difference in the dragons' appearance--they will be much larger this time. In fact, they are so big that director Matt Shakman has even compared their size to a plane.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly recently, Shakman revealed that the dragons are going to be as large as Boeing 747 planes in season 7. "The dragons this year are the size of 747s," he teased. "Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!"

As if their massive size in the previous season was not scary enough, comparing them to a giant plane is something else. Fans surely cannot wait to see the Mother of Dragons ride on the back of the creatures, which will be epic to say the least.

If that is not enough to excite viewers, there are also plenty of guest stars set for the seventh season. It was previously reported that Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard and singer Ed Sheeran will be making appearances in the highly anticipated season. Sheeran's cameo is particularly special because Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, is a big fan of the "Shape of You" hitmaker.

Apart from Sheeran, another musician is also going to appear in season 7. Brent Hinds of Mastodon revealed on Jamey Jasta's podcast (via Metal Insider) that he will be returning to the HBO fantasy series. It can be recalled that Hinds, along with other members of his band, made guest appearances as Wildling wights in season 5.

The first official teaser already dropped the week before. And while it only consisted of voice-overs and shots of house sigils, a number of fans still went into a frenzy when it was released. With season 7 three months away, it is expected that more trailers and promotional materials will be rolled out soon enough.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will premiere on July 16 on HBO.
