'Game of Thrones' Season 7: Iain Glen Talks Jorah's Fate; HBO Unveils Two New Promo Clips
Over the years, "Game of Thrones" has become known for its intrigue, political drama and violence--fearlessly killing off even the most popular of characters. However, it looks like one fan-favorite, Ser Jorah Mormont, will live for another season.
This much was teased by Iain Glen himself while he was speaking to Stuff recently. "I've always enjoyed playing Jorah. It's been a role that's been good to me so far," he said. "There's quite a high death count in 'Game Of Thrones' and they don't blanch at removing favourite characters. They just get rid of them in a brutal way. My end may well be close but so far I'm doing OK."
Considering Glen's character has been in love with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) for the longest time, it is definitely comforting to know that he may very well make it out alive this upcoming season.
But Jorah is not the only one who will survive season 7, though. Ed Sheeran, who was previously revealed to have a cameo in the new season, also teased that his character would not die. The "Castle on the Hill" singer was asked to make a guest appearance on the show because Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, is a fan of his work.
In other news, two more HBO promo videos have been released. The first promo offered a sneak peek at some of the characters in new costumes, along with characters from other HBO television shows. Like the first one, these two new clips feature various characters making an "ahh" sound to mimic the one heard when the HBO logo pops up.
Season 7 is still roughly three months away, having moved its release date to lengthen their filming period. And while it is a significantly longer wait than previous seasons, it looks like it will be all worth it in the end.
"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres July 16.
