'Game of Thrones' Season 8 News, Air Date: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Doubts Multiple Endings
To avoid any leaks, the final season of "Game of Thrones" will reportedly be shooting multiple endings. However, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, does not think this is a good idea.
The actor recently spoke to Marie Claire and revealed that he does not believe the report of shooting multiple endings is accurate.
"Do you think that's true? It seems really stupid to me," Coster-Waldau said. "I mean if it's true I don't believe it, but I don't know, maybe. I mean, I haven't read the script, so unless they will show several endings that could be a twist, they're not going to waste that money. They know how expensive it is to shoot. You're not going to waste $100,000 a day to shoot something you're not going to use. It's not going to happen."

"Game of Thrones" has been the victim of leaks in the past, with full episodes going online before they hit the air. There are also avid fans who take set photos while the show is filming. These images then get interpreted, and conclusions are drawn about plotlines.
HBO programming president Casey Bloys has said in the past that several endings will be shot to avoid these kinds of leaks. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who will be helming the series finale together, have yet to confirm this.
Meanwhile, Benioff and Weiss are not the only names attached to direct the upcoming final season of the acclaimed series, though. According to Entertainment Weekly, Emmy-winning directors Miguel Sapochnik and David Nutter will be returning to lend their services. It remains to be seen, though, how many episodes and which ones they will be directing.
Sapochnik is known for helming "The Battle of the Bastards" and "The Winds of Winter," while Nutter is famous for directing "The Rains of Castamere" and "Mother's Mercy."
