'Game of Thrones' Season 8 News: Kit Harington Feels 'A Certain Pressure I've Not Felt Before'
The entire world is excited about the final season of "Game of Thrones," and Kit Harington is feeling the pressure.
While speaking to Deadline, Harington reflected on the impending conclusion of the HBO fantasy-drama series. With fans' expectations of the final season at a high, the actor, who plays Jon Snow, is understandably stressed.
"Well, I think there's a certain pressure I've not felt before," he said. "Whereas before, every year there's always been a bit of pressure, this season is one where we could easily let people down."
That said, even if the pressure is getting to him, he revealed that they are working very hard to make sure that expectations are met or even exceeded.
"Obviously, we don't want to [let people down] so we're very much stepping up everyone's game which is very apparent, at least to me," he said. "We're all growing a bit and I think everyone's attention is very focused on what we're doing in a way that it's always been, but it may be more apparent."
The fates of many characters hang in the balance, especially since "Game of Thrones" is a show that is not afraid to kill off seemingly invincible main cast members. One particular character whose future is questionable is Yara Greyjoy, played by Gemma Whelan. Fans last saw her as Euron Greyjoy's (Pilou Asbæk) prisoner after he intercepted their ship. Theon (Alfie Allen) managed to escape, which was seen as a cowardly move. But, it looks like he is about to redeem himself in season 8.
According to Watchers on the Wall, both Whelan and Allen were spotted filming ship scenes in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. There were also other actors playing Ironborn followers at the site. Asbæk, however, was nowhere to be seen. This could mean that Theon will finally avenge himself and save Yara from their uncle.
However, since nothing has been confirmed, fans should take this news with a grain of salt. After all, HBO has taken great measures to make sure spoilers do not leak out.
