Gaming News: Microsoft to Announce 100+ Xbox One Backward-Compatible Games Soon

Gamers need not wait any longer as it has been confirmed that on Monday next week, Microsoft will be announcing the first 100 Xbox 360 games compatible for the Xbox One .

Executive Phil Spencer said on Twitter that fans using Xbox 360 no longer need to worry with their move to Xbox One as the titles to be released are all backward compatible.

According to IGN, gamers were greatly surprised when the Xbox One was revealed to feature backward compatibility during E3 2015, and though some were worried that the new feature may not allow for Xbox One potential buyers to play the games, the recent news cleared all queries.

Xbox engineering executive Mike Ybarra also further clarified on Twitter that the list to be announced will be playable on Xbox One. "For those asking, we'll announce the initial set of 100+ backward compatible titles on 11/9," he confirmed.

The New Xbox One Experience comes to players on Nov. 12, meaning before then, gamers can get the chance to see which games are to be included in the significant update that introduces backward compatibility even before the launch date.

Game Spot says some of the games to be included in the list are: "Borderlands," "Defense Grid: The Awakening,' "Fallout 3," "Shadow Complex," and one of the biggest games in history, "Mass Effect."

The outlet also notes that Microsoft has vowed to add more titles to the list regularly, aside from the hundred that will be announced very soon.

While many players are excited and looking forward to the new feature, it is important to remember that once the feature rolls out, Xbox 360 and XBLA games will only become available to Xbox One owners if the original games are already purchased or downloaded in the players' systems.
