And to bring the hype up even more, the cover art for the game has been released already by Microsoft. With the theme of "weathering the storm," it teases the new things that will be coming along the game including never-been-seen-before weapons and new enemies. It has also been noted in the cover art that there is a cameo of a statue with a familiar face from the franchise.
Moreover, "Gears of War 4" will be set 25 years after the events that took place in the original trilogy, which ultimately marked the end of the human versus Locust war with a tremendous blow-up. And as stated in Game Spot, the game will have a split-screen play for multiplayer and a frame rate of 30fps when playing this way.
There is no word yet if a PC version will be released but Fletcher wrote that there are more exciting news and updates to come with regards to the game so fans will have to stay tuned.
