'Gears of War' News: Gameplay Video Leaked, Coming to Xbox One?
A video of gameplay supposedly from the remake of the "Gears of War" for the Xbox One console has been leaked online and it somehow confirms the existence of a new version of the game in the making that is only for the Xbox One. The 36-second video shows the lead character in the game, Marcus Fenix, then a Locust Horde foot soldier each killing enemies in a multiplayer match. It supposedly looks better than footage from the Xbox 360 version.
The video leak follows an earlier report about a remake of the third person shooter video game in the works that promised to "upgrade the visuals of the Xbox 360 shooter in several ways" such as the lighting and textures, as well as the frame rate that will be bumped up to 60. The cinematics are reportedly being redone by an outside animation studio.
In terms of the rumored title of this edition, it was mentioned that a copyright for the name "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" has been filed in Brazil during the earlier part of last week. Microsoft, the game franchise owner, however has not confirmed that a remake of the game is indeed being developed. There is speculation that they may make an announcement during the upcoming E3 2015.
In related news, Microsoft has traced the source of the leaks to some contractors working for a company called VMC Games, which is handling the testing of the "Gears" title and have taken action on those who are responsible for the leaked videos.
"Gears of War" is a video game franchise originally developed by Epic Games and owned by Microsoft Studios. The franchise has four games in the series. In 2014, Microsoft bought the rights from Epic Games and announced that Black Tusk Studios is developing another game for the Xbox One.
