GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Latest News: NVIDIA Announces $699 Video Card

After many months of speculation, NVIDIA has officially announced the existence of its new graphics card: the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

NVIDIA chief executive Jen-Hsun Huan unveiled the new graphics card onstage at the Game Developers Conference 2017 in San Francisco this week. The company also published a news release on their official website.

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is NVIDIA's fastest gaming graphics processing unit (GPU) yet. Compared to the GTX 1080, the GTX 1080 Ti delivers up to 35 percent more performance than what its predecessor is capable of. It comes with 11 GB of next-generation GDDR5X memory and runs at a staggering rate of 11 Gps. Best of all, it will be launching next week for the price of $699.

The price tag of the Ge Force GTX 1080 Ti is significantly cheaper than the current king of graphic cards, the $1200 Titan X card, which NVIDIA claims its new graphics card can outperform in terms of speed.

According to NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is the most powerful and efficient hardware that the tech company has ever developed. One of the reasons why the card has significantly better performance compared to earlier NVIDIA cards is its cooling solution, covering more surface area of the graphics card. Hence, not only can the GTX 1080 Ti run cooler, it also runs much quieter.

It can be argued that the GTX 1080 Ti is one of the most impressive iterative upgrades that NVIDIA has ever done with a video card's generation, according to a report by GameRant. The manufacturer has reportedly succeeded in designing a worthy successor to the GTX 1080 card in less than six months after the 1080's launch. The latest NVIDIA card is also praised for being relatively cost effective.

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be available on March 10 at 10 a.m. PT from hardware partners. Prices will start at $699 for the graphic card's standard model and bin cards.
