George Alexander Louis' Birth a Boon for Fans of Tetley USA
British-Founded Company Offers Free Tea to US Parents to Celebrate New Royal Baby
U.S. tea company Tetley USA is celebrating the birth and naming of Prince William and Kate Middleton's first child, George Alexander Louis, by offering a free year's supply of tea to U.S. parents who have or had a baby this year also named George.
"Tetley is the quintessential taste of Britain and they want to reward those with the same taste in names as the Duke and Duchess," according to a Tetley's PR agency.
Tetley Tea, founded more than 160 years by English brothers Joseph and Edward Tetley, promises qualifying parents one year's supply of its various blends, such as its Classic Black Tea, Green Tea, Iced Tea Blend and British Blend.
"This is an exciting time for the royal couple–and for any parent of a new baby–so we wanted to find a special way to 'raise our collective cuppa' in the U.S.," said Marc Birnbaum, marketing executive at Tetley Tea. "Expecting that the royal baby's name choice will now be on the rise, we look forward to welcoming every George born this year with free tea for his parents!"
Parents who qualify and are interested in capitalizing on the new British heir's birth must post a scan of their newborn baby Georges' birth certificates providing date of birth and name via Facebook at www.facebook.com/tetleyusa, or via email at tetleysocialmedia@tataglobalbeverages.com. The deadline is January 1, 2014.
George Alexander Louis, third in line to the British throne, was born Monday, January 24, 2013, at 4:24 p.m. London time. The baby, weighing 8 pounds and 6 ounces, is the first child for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who were married in April 2011.
