George and Amal Clooney Pregnancy News: Couple Announces Twins Due in June

First marriage, now kids. George Clooney has definitely proven that he is the commitment type as news has broken that his wife, Amal, is currently pregnant with twins.

Pregnancy rumors have surrounded Amal for a while now, but it was Julie Chen who confirmed the news on her morning show, "The Talk."

"'The Talk' has confirmed that the 55-year-old superstar and his highly accomplished 39-year-old attorney wife are expecting twins," Chen announced on her show. And while the pregnancy was only confirmed recently, George and Amal did reveal the news to close friends and relatives ahead of time, including Matt Damon, whom George co-starred with in the "Ocean's" trilogy.

"We were working together last fall," Damon told TODAY. "He came up to me on the set and took me aside and told me. I was so happy for him." At the time George told him, Amal had only been eight weeks pregnant.

Moreover, Damon, who is a parent himself, thinks that the couple will do a "fantastic" job raising the children. He described the international law and human rights barrister as "spectacular" and shared that he thinks George will be a "great" dad since he is both "so smart" and "so loving."

But Damon is not the only person who thinks George will do a good job parenting the twins. Nina Clooney, the Academy Award-winning actor's mother, told Us Weekly that her son will be "great."

"We are extremely happy for George and Amal, and I cannot imagine two people who would be better parents," Nina said, recalling that the couple personally revealed the news to her and Nick Clooney, George's father, together.

George and Amal were married in September 2014 at the Aman Canal Grande hotel in Venice, Italy. The international law and human rights barrister is due to give birth in June 2017.
