Germany vs. Netherlands - Watch Euro 2012 Live Stream Online

Group B continues Wednesday afternoon with Netherlands vs Germany in one of the stand-out games of the group stages. The game can be watched live on ESPN from 2.45 p.m. or alternatively fans can watch online through live streaming (details below).

The Group B rivals are two of the fiercest rivals in world soccer, and they two countries will renew their long-term rivalry in today's vital Group B game.

Following the Netherland's opening game defeat against Denmark, they find themselves in a difficult situation – facing the group favorites, knowing if they lose they will be on the verge of exiting the tournament. Netherlands will be thankful that Portugal defeated Denmark in Group B's earlier game, as that result means even if they only draw today's game with Germany they could still potentially get through by beating Portugal in their last game. If Denmark had held on for a draw in that game against Portugal then the Netherlands would be facing a must-win game against Germany. However, Portugal scored with just minutes to go against Denmark earlier to secure a 3-2 win and put themselves back in contention in the so-called "Group of Death."

Germany got off to a fantastic start in their Euro 2012 campaign last week with victory over Portugal. Their performance wasn't their best, but showed they could grind out results when needed. However, defeat in today's game against the Netherlands would smash the group wide open again, as all four teams would be on three points, with one win and one loss each, with just the final game to go. Many neutral fans would love that scenario to be played out, sparking a potentially frantic knock-out final round of games in Group B.

However, Germany would like nothing better than to get the victory today to all but knock out their fierce rivals from the competition, and at the same time virtually guarantee their path to the quarter finals.

The Netherlands should not be underestimated, however; they made it to the final of the World Cup in 2010, and displayed fantastic form in qualifying for Euro 2012, scoring more goals than any other team in their qualification. However, the Dutch lost their scoring touch against Denmark in their opening game, and couldn't get the win despite having an astonishing 28 shots on goal. They will hope their shooting boots are on today, and they will need them if they are to overturn their old rivals.

Germany enter today's game following a run of 12 straight wins in competitive games, which probably makes them marginally the favorites for today's encounter.
