'Ghost in the Shell' Star Scarlett Johansson Hosts 'Saturday Night Live,' Impersonates Ivanka Trump

Scarlett Johansson joined the five-timers club when she hosted "Saturday Night Live" for the fifth time on March 11. The hosting stint was her first public appearance since her split from ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

Since the divorce proceedings started, the "Ghost in the Shell" star had stayed away from the spotlight. However, she managed to host the famed late-night sketch comedy show with a huge smile on her face throughout the night. In fact, she did not mention anything about her personal life during the show.

For her opening monologue, Johansson expressed how privileged she was to host the popular show for the fifth time. Things took a fun turn when the director, played by Beck Bennett, started to make strange requests to Johansson, even asking Leslie Jones to kiss the guest host.

After Jones kissed her on the cheeks, Bennett said she should kiss her on her lips. Jones did as Bennett demanded, pecking Johansson on her puckered-up lips. Just when Johansson tried to keep her composure, they were forced once again to act like they were having orgasms, drawing raucous laughter from the audience.

The episode also saw the return of Alex Baldwin as U.S. President Donald Trump. In a mock ad, Johansson got political by playing Trump's daughter Ivanka while Baldwin impersonated the president. Johansson also comically played a scientist who was infuriated after finding out that her dog was actually a die-hard supporter of Trump.

Towards the end of the episode, Johansson offered a big shout-out to the people of the armed forces. "We are thinking of you, you are with us always, thank you for your service," she said.

Lorde, who sang "Green Light" and "Liability," also joined Johansson as a musical guest. Prior to last Saturday's episode, the last time Johansson hosted "SNL" was in 2015.
