'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Update: PvP Mode Delayed for PC

Following a 10-hour maintenance, the Ghost War player vs. player (PvP) mode for "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands" is now live for the consoles, but the PC players will have to wait until tomorrow, Oct. 12.

Per GameSpot, Ubisoft decided to deal with a bug they discovered within this version of the game first so that Ghost War will be added without a hitch.

The new PvP mode pits two teams of four in a "deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game where strategy is equally important to skill."

In "Ghost Recon Wildlands: Ghost War," participating teams will choose from a roster of varied classes across three categories — Assault, Marks and Support. Each category will offer unique roles on the battlefield as players make their way to the massive open maps and take out enemies.

The new PvP mode also offers a dozen classes for players to choose from. Each will come with distinctive playstyle and loadout, which players will have to consider in putting together a team that will deal with the situation.

"Ghost Recon Wildlands" gamers would want to put the close to medium range fighters in the Assault class while those with the long range skills would be better off in the Marksman classes.

Support classes, on the other hand, can in a way bend the rules with the use of superior technology like the modified drones, which will ensure tactical advantage.

Ghost War will also challenge "Ghost Recon Wildlands" players to sharpen their communication and strategic skills as they solve problems and cope with the consequences of every decision they make.

Lastly, the PvP mode will feature "large, open environments" with different terrain and weather conditions that translate to unique set of challenges and opportunities for players.

Apart from the release of "Ghost Recon Wildlands" PvP, the game also received a new update that includes much-needed tweaks including improvements on campaign connectivity.

The Steam download of the "Ghost Recon Wildlands" update is at 4.7 GB while the Uplay members will have to make room for the bigger 9.5 GB download, which can go up to 11 GB. Check out the patch notes here.
