'Ghost War' PvP Mode for 'Wildlands' to be Released this October
Players of Ubisoft's tactical shooter video game "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will be getting the latest player versus player (PvP) mode soon — for free.
The game developer previously announced that "Ghost War" would be available via free update on all platforms starting on Oct. 10. The new mode was tested in a beta than ran from Sept. 21 to 25, with hundreds of players testing the exciting death match gameplay.
In a blog released by Ubisoft, Chris Watters, one of the communications specialists, explained what the mode is about. It was also revealed that there would be regular updates and new content after the scheduled launch.

"At the start of each match, players will choose from among 12 soldier classes with distinct weapons and perks. Once they take to the field on one of the eight maps, they'll need to coordinate with their teammates and take the fight to their foes. New mechanics including suppressing fire and sound markers will make cover positions and situational awareness an even more important part of the tactical landscape," Watters said.
Game Spot reported that in "Ghost War," the matches will be best-of-three, each with 10-minute rounds. There will be a total of eight maps and 12 classes to choose the soldiers from. The recently released trailer shows the final three classes included in the PvP – the Assassin, the Diversionist, and the Sentinel.
As teased, the fights will be in a form of death match, with chances of reviving. Meanwhile, the next modes will reportedly objective-style game types, though Ubisoft has yet to reveal anything about them.
"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is set on Bolivia, where the Santa Blanca drug cartel has made it the largest cocaine producer in the world. Fear and violence grip the country as the group becomes even more powerful, becoming a major player in the underworld. The Ghosts, an elite US Special Forces team, will do its best to end the cartel's domination and bring back peace to the people.
"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is currently available on Xbox One, PC, and PS4.

Although six cases might be a small number especially since millions are being shipped overseas, fans are reminded of the ill-fated Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which is known as the exploding smartphone.
Independent spoke to an Apple spokesperson, who told them that they are aware of the issues and that they are currently doing their best to investigate the source of the problem. Furthermore, they also believe that the battery swelling will not cause the gadget to explode the way that Note 7 did, and it is therefore not a safety concern. However, it remains to be seen if the issues are coincidental or if the problem is in the manufacturing of the iPhone 8.
There is no official word yet from Apple as far as the results of the investigation. Fans believe that it is still currently ongoing. However, they also hope that the six cases are isolated ones. Regardless, fans are expecting to have more details in the coming weeks.
