'Father of Christian television': Pat Robertson's death draws reactions from supporters, critics
Ralph Reed
Ralph Reed, a conservative Christian activist hired by Robertson in 1989 to oversee the Christian Coalition, emailed out a statement giving his condolences.
Reed, who founded the Faith & Freedom Coalition and a top Evangelical political activist, called Robertson "one of the past century's most influential figures in American religion, culture and politics."
"As a giant of the faith, founder of a global broadcasting ministry, pioneer of the cable television industry, humanitarian, educator, founder of Regent University, presidential candidate, and founder of the Christian Coalition, he was a true man of God who led millions to Christ," said Reed.
"His heart for the Lord gave purpose to his life and animated everything his hand touched. Pat's remarkable life is a reminder that a single person wholly surrendered to Jesus Christ can make a huge difference."
Reed believes Robertson left a legacy that included "his family, his ministry, Regent University, and the millions he touched that will continue for decades."
"I was blessed and honored to count him as a friend," he concluded.
