'Gilmore Girls' Updates: Luke and Christopher to Fight Over Rory's Situation

Rory's (Alexis Bledel) two fathers will have a lot to say about her unplanned pregnancy in the potential second part of the "Gilmore Girls" sequel on Netflix.

Speculations on the rumored sequel of "A Year in the Life" indicate the huge role that Luke (Scott Patterson) will play as Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) new husband and Rory's stepfather. In the revival, Rory told her mom that she was pregnant, but failed to reveal who the baby's father was. Many fans were shocked by the sudden turn of events. Rory has always been portrayed as a good girl although she broke that idea when she continued to sleep with Logan (Matt Czuchry) even though he was already engaged to someone else.

The effect of Rory's shocking announcement is expected to be tackled in the continuation. Luke, who has always been protective of her, will not keep quiet about his feelings. He has been against Rory's relationship with the Huntzberger kid from the start. Luke thinks that Logan is a bad influence on Rory. If the blonde is really the baby's father as spoilers claim, Logan can expect a visit from Luke soon. As for Christopher (David Sutcliffe), Rory's biological father, speculations are rife that he will make his presence felt by checking on Lorelai and Rory once in a while.

Luke and Christopher's interactions usually end in trouble. The fans are aware that their past meetings were tension-filled. Luke has always been jealous of Christopher's relationship with Lorelai. Even when they started dating, Luke was sure that she was still in love with her ex. It does not help that Christopher's connection to Rory remains strong. As her father, he could reach out to her whenever he wants. Christopher will likely be informed about his daughter's condition. If this happens, viewers can expect sparks to fly when he and Luke meet again.

Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that the revival of the series was not as satisfying as the regular seasons. Rory's character, for example, was a huge disappointment. The mystery of her baby's father still needs to be revealed. Lorelai's married life is also begging to be discussed. If Netflix and the Palladinos decide that to have a second part for "A Year in the Life," these are reportedly the things that the storyline needs to address.
