'Gintama: Porori-hen' Air Date, Spoilers: New Promotional Video Teases More Battles and the Usual Yorozuya Humor

With only days left before the sixth season of the Japanese anime series "Gintama" premieres, the official promotional video has finally been released.

Subtitled "Porori-hen (Porori Arc)," details about the upcoming installment has been kept under wraps for quite some time, which has led fans to speculate on what the next series of episodes will be about.

One theory stated that the "Porori Arc" could be about the so-called pool episode, which took up two whole chapters of the manga series from which the anime is based. It turns out that the term "porori" was used to refer to potential wardrobe malfunctions that occurred during the cavalry battle.

"Porori" was also part of the 323rd manga chapter's title," If There's a Pool, There's Porori." There is also no "Porori Arc" in the manga series.

However, there have also been alleged reports that the upcoming season will be featuring all original content, which could serve as a filler for the succeeding arcs.

The only thing that's for sure, though, is that Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura, and the rest of the gang will be back again for a whole new series of mischief and shenanigans, as teased in the newly released promotional video shared on BN Pictures' official YouTube channel.

There seem to be as many battles as there are humorous slapstick, comedic conflicts, and the usual antics that Gintoki and his crew have been known for. At one point, it seems that a pool episode may indeed be featured, but it doesn't seem to be at the very core of the upcoming season.

"Gintama: Porori-hen" premieres at a special time on Sunday, Oct. 1, late night at 2:05 a.m. on TV Tokyo, Television Hokkaido, Television Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. The subsequent episodes will be airing on Sunday at 1:35 a.m. Broadcast schedules are subject to change due to some special events and other unforeseen circumstances.
