'Girl Meets World' Season 3 Spoilers: More Mature Topics for Feminist Star
Even though the second season of the Disney series "Girl Meets World" has yet to conclude, details about the upcoming third season have already been revealed.
The recent episode of the series showed Riley, played by Rowan Blanchard, finally revealing her feelings for Lucas. This presented a dilemma since it was revealed that her bestfriend Maya, played by Sabrina Carpenter, is actually dating Lucas.
With that, fans can expect that the love triangle will continue into "Girl Meets World" season 3. This will surely cause some tension between the two best friends. However, it was reported that it will not be the only trouble that the girls will be faced with in the upcoming season. Since the two will soon be heading to high school, it can be expected that they will have to deal with more mature content.

It was recently reported that Disney star Blanchard is one of the youngest voices of feminism, which means that the show will most likely take on themes that relate to the matter, especially since the series puts an emphasis on her friendship with Maya. Blanchard recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her take on feminism.
She explained, "Of course female friendship is a beautiful thing. It's insanely powerful. Sisterhood is something so valid and important when you are growing up that I literally think the essence of it should be taught in schools. But, the 'squads' we see in the media are very polarizing. Feminism and friendship are supposed to be inclusive, and most of these 'squads' are strictly exclusive. It makes feminism look very one dimensional."
Meanwhile, the writers of the series recently revealed some spoilers for the upcoming season. It was revealed that they are already working on the story for season 3. According to their official Twitter account, the upcoming season will feature an episode titled "Girl Meets Ski Lodge."
With the rest of season 2 expected to return on Jan. 8, "Girl Meets World" season 3 will premiere on Disney Channel this spring of 2016.
