'Girls' Season 5 Trailer: Shosh Goes To Japan, Marnie Gets Married, The Girls Drift Apart

HBO has released the season five trailer for its Lena Dunham-helmed dramedy series "Girls" and it shows the 20-something New Yorkers going through some pretty significant life changes, as well as moving further apart from each other.

The sneak peek for the show's upcoming fifth season shows viewers that Hannah (show creator and executive producer Lena Dunham) is still happily in a relationship with Fran (Jake Lacy). Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), newly platinum blonde, is in Japan. Apparently, she has taken the job that was offered to her back in Season 4. Not much was shown about the Jessa (Jemima Kirke) storyline, but fans can rest assured that she's still there, hanging around fire escapes and being mean (in a nice way) to Hannah.

The biggest reveal, however, was that Marnie (Allison Williams) is getting married. The visibly panicked Marnie is shown putting on her wedding gown and consulting Hannah about her excessively made-up wedding face. "My makeup is insane!" she says, to which Hannah replies, "It's not insane. Ok, if we just take it down a little … around the face."

"This is the day," Marnie tells her reflection as she gets ready for her wedding day. But, as can be expected, an event this big can't go down without at least a little bit of drama.

"The very least you could do right now is to pretend that I might be doing the right thing," Marnie can be heard saying. Perhaps Marnie's friends (or at least Hannah) has expressed doubts about the wedding? "She's gonna be married… to someone she barely knows!" Hannah tells Fran.

Could this be the end of the girls' friendship? In April this year, Dunham revealed to Variety that the show may end after Season 6, saying, "I think America has a tendency to push shows past their due dates."

The fifth season of "Girls" premieres on Feb. 21 on HBO.
