Glee to Guest Star Ricky Martin
Singer Ricky Martin will make a guest appearance on FOX’s “Glee” this season, according to recent reports.
The Puerto Rican artist will portray “the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio” on the television series which takes place in Lima, Ohio, TVLine wrote.
Martin will participate in two musical numbers on “Glee,” despite the show’s creator Ryan Murphy claiming that no celebrities would make cameos this season.

The singer is best known for his hit song “Livin’ la Vida Loca” which ignited Latin pop music in 1999. The former member of the band Menudo, Martin has also previously starred on the TV soap opera “General Hospital.”
Martin has been honored for his work in humanitarian efforts, including his non-profit organization the Ricky Martin Foundation. He has received Billboard’s Spirit of Hope Award, ALMA Award, Vanguard Award, among others, and was recognized by the U.S. Department of State for his work against human trafficking in 2005.
The “Glee” episode featuring Martin is scheduled to air early next year. The television series gained popularity on FOX network after its first season in 2009 and focuses on a high school glee club called New Directions.
In other “Glee” news, TVLine also reported that Chord Overstreet would return to “Glee” to reprise his role as Sam Evans, despite declining a limited deal.
After appearing on the second season of “Glee,” Overstreet’s success mounted greatly. Many fans and viewers of the FOX television series requested that Overstreet remain on “Glee,” and the executive producer reportedly offered him a ten-episode deal.
After turning down the offer, Overstreet told TVLine, “They offered me the chance to come back for a few episodes, but there was nothing guaranteed so I decided to dive into the music thing.”
The 22-year-old actor and musician will appear on “Glee” Dec. 6. The television series airs on FOX Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
