Glenn Beck Kicks Off Israel Religious Rally, Stirring Controversy
Right wing pundit and former Fox News show host, Glenn Beck has begun his “Restoring Honor” rally by kicking off various events in Israel to garner support for the nation.
“God is involved in man’s affairs, but so is the force of darkness,” said Beck earlier this year. “I believe I’ve been asked to stand in Jerusalem. Many in the history of man have had the opportunity to stand with the Jewish people… and they have failed.”
Events for “Restoring Courage” have been sold out. Many are expected to turn out but according to The New American this year’s events will not see the 500,000 attendees that it had in 2010, given its location in Israel.
The Caesarea Amphitheater hosted “The Courage to Love,” the first event of the week-long rally, and which is based on the Biblical stories of Ruth and Esther. Glenn Beck welcomed those attending to “the land of milk and honey,” according to The New American.
Pastor John Hagee and historian David Barton were also in attendance and showed their support for the nation of Israel.
“We have come tonight to say to the people of Israel, you are still the apple of God’s eye,” said Hagee to the crowd at the event.
“Restoring Honor” will also feature Academy Award Winning Actor Jon Voight and author Mike Evans.
However, Christians such as Hagee and Barton giving their support to Beck and the event is extremely foolish, according to Bill Keller of Liveprayer.com who feels the conservative TV host is promoting a type of religious pluralism not taught in the Bible.
Liveprayer.com, an interactive Christian website, recently called for a boycott of Christian TV network TBN for their support of Glenn Beck.
Beck is a professed Mormon, a religion that is far from true Christianity, according Bill Keller.
“Glenn Beck is part of the Mormon cult,” said Keller to The Christian Post.
Keller feels true Christians should have no part with Glenn Beck and the “Restoring Honor” rally.
“The Mormon doctrine, are in 100 percent contradiction to Biblical Christianity,” said Keller. “A Mormon is no more Christian than a Muslim is.”
According to Keller, most Biblically illiterate Christians buy into Becks conservative campaigns due to their lack of understanding in their own faith.
“There is virtually nobody out in the media that is calling Beck out,” said Keller, explaining how well renowned Christians ignore the fact that Beck is Mormon, and urge their fellow believers to stand behind him based on his conservative political positions.
