From what has been revealed about the upcoming game's main character up to this point, it does not seem as though this individual will be afforded with that same type of luxury.

Developers have already highlighted the fact that the protagonist is weighed down by bangles that act as restraints. Those could also be clues that the position held by this protagonist is different from the ones that earlier main characters once had, Gematsu reported.
Now, more details recently revealed by the developers are hinting even more that "God Eater 3's" protagonist may be tasked with taking on even greater challenges this time around.
General producer Yusuke Tomizawa, producer Yusuke Tomiyama, director Hiroshi Yoshimura and character designer Kurumi Kobayashi shared more details about the game during an interview with Dengeki PlayStation, and among the subjects discussed was the protagonist, Siliconera reported.
According to the developers, the protagonist is going to be treated poorly in the upcoming game. The treatment may even seem inhumane.
It is an interesting change that the developers are going for, and it will significantly impact what type of story will be told.
Not everything about the protagonist will be different, however.
Players will still be able to customize the appearance of this character. The protagonist will also have access to some cool-looking weapons, though there are some new types being introduced as well.
Also, even if the protagonist will not always be treated well, there will still be other characters present in the game who can help players out.
