God Is Holy!
Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise. Psalm 48:1
Do you know someone who never makes mistakes? Can you picture anyone who is always good? Have you ever met anyone who never tells lies? Imagine someone who cannot even think of doing or saying anything wrong. A person like this would be holy. To be holy means to be perfect, to never sin. Nobody on Earth is holy. The only one like that is God.
God, our Heavenly Father, is holy. God said, "Be holy, because I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). He wants his children to be holy, too! How can you be holy when you know you sometimes sin? Does God really think you can be perfect? No, but He wants you to do your best to be like Him. God lives in you to give you the power to live a clean, holy life and not to sin. He will help you say "no" to sin. He will help you to obey His Word and do what is right.
