God is So Lovable
When you think of God, how do you feel about Him? Is He more of a tyrannical dictator over your lives? A Father figure? A friend?
We can think of God as a being with authority, who is up there, and the King of the Universe. Although these conceptions of God arent necessarily untrue, it is not the complete representation of God.
Lets step back for a minute and first think of the experiences of love we have had in our lives. Havent you ever received a gift from a loved one that touched a deep part of your heart? Looking at the gift, did you feel a euphoric sense of love and generosity?
We think of people who remember our birthdays as thoughtful and those who leave unexpected gifts for us as sweet. But do notice how God treats as royal princes and princesseseveryday?
Think how much love God must have poured into creating a sweet fragrant rose or the symphonic setting of the sun. Do we feel it? That immeasurable love?
God reaches out to us and reveals Himself to us through His creation. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualitieshis eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
But what is a more perfect example, revelation of God than His creation to us? It is Jesus Christ.
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me (John 14:11), Jesus tells his disciples.
How much more beautiful is Jesus than anything on this earth? His heart is deeper than the oceans, his Words are more lovely than a birds song, his love is warmer than any summers day sun.
How often do we think how thoughtful, how sweet God is to give us His precious Son? God must have put His whole heart into Jesus with a deep desire to send more profound message of love than we would find in a birthday card.
May the believers of Christ be reminded once again what the true nature of God is. While He is the Father that protects us, disciplines us, and watches over us with His Sovereignty, He is also the Father we can come to and bury our teary eyes into Him, the Father we can hug and be lifted up in laughter, the Father we can lovethe lovable God.
