'God of War' PS4 Ad Pops Up in Spain, Prompts Speculation That Game May Be Released Later This Year

Director Cory Barlog 'still thinking' about when the 'God of War' PS4 game may be released

After taking the Electronic Entertainment Expo stage by storm last year, fans have been eager to learn anything they can about the upcoming "God of War" PlayStation 4 game, but to this point at least, important details have been hard to come by.

With essential bits of information concerning the new game still lacking, it probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the sudden emergence of an ad has given the fans a reason to get excited.

The ad in question apparently popped up in Madrid, Spain, according to a NeoGAF post from user "Guymelef" and it features the bearded Kratos looking as intimidating as ever as he is situated just behind and to the side of his son Atreus.

The ad also appears to have been put up since Father's Day in Spain is already fast approaching, and that seems like a good enough reason to remind gamers that Kratos is now a dear old dad himself.

No new details related to the game were revealed in the ad, but that has not prevented fans from speculating that it could be a subtle sign that the "God of War" PS4 game may be released sooner rather than later.

Some fans are even hinting that the ad could mean that this new game will be made available later this year.

Unfortunately, that's far from confirmed at this point and the developers aren't spilling the beans with regards to how close this game is to being ready either.

Over on Twitter, director Cory Barlog was asked directly by a fan if he already has a release date in mind for the next installment of the "God of War" franchise, and he replied by saying that he is "still thinking" about it.

It's pretty clear that fans are already excited to get the chance to take control of Kratos in the upcoming "God of War" PS4 game, but they have no other choice than to wait for now, as an official release date is still unavailable.
