'God of War' PS4 Release Date Rumors: 2017 Release Date Possibly Confirmed by Voice Actor
Many gamers in the PlayStation community have been very eager to know when the upcoming "God of War" video game will be released for the PlayStation 4. Since the game was revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) last June, no official announcement has been issued regarding the game's release date. New reports now indicate that the highly anticipated video game may arrive this year.
As spotted by TheWolfHall, the Twitter account of Christopher Judge – the voice behind Kratos' character in the upcoming "God of War" game – listed the video game as "God of War 2017," suggesting that the next "God of War" game title is scheduled for launch this year.
Previous rumors have already suggested that "God of War," also known as "God of War: A New Beginning," is slated to be released in 2017, and Judge's social media profile seemingly confirms this to be the case. However, according to PlayStation Universe, this may just be a mistake or Judge was simply referring to the year he is scheduled to record his voice for the video game.
"God of War," the fourth main title in the upcoming game series, has been in development for the past three years. Although the game did not appear at the PlayStation Experience 2016, game director Cory Barlog promised "something really awesome" once they're ready to offer a new glimpse of the game.
According to The Bitbag, should "God of War" indeed arrive in 2017, it would be one of the many Sony exclusives lined up this year. Sony recently published Koei Tecmo's video game "Nioh" as a PS4 exclusive. This month, "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was also launched for the PS4.
Despite all the rumors and speculations, "God of War" has no official release date on the PS4 yet. In the meantime, fans of the franchise can play the remastered version of "God of War 3" on the PS4.
