'God of War' PS4 Rumors: Retailer Listings Hint at a Possible Release Date for Eagerly Anticipated Game
Devs have thus far only confirmed an early 2018 release window for the game
Slowly but surely, the upcoming "God of War" PlayStation 4 game is coming together, as developers provide more bits of information related to the new stories set to be told and gameplay changes that will be introduced.
There are still important details about the game that remain unavailable up to this point however, and one of those is its actual release date.
Currently, the only thing developers have shared related to the game's arrival is that it will take place sometime early next year.
While the developers may not be ready to provide an exact release date just yet, some retailer listings have already done that.
Spotted recently by VideoGames24, Gamescom.gr as well as another European retailer put up listings for the aforementioned game with an exact release date included in both of them.
Interestingly enough, both retailer listings indicated that the new "God of War" PS4 game would be released on May 23, 2018.
Typically, retailer listings for upcoming games that have yet to be given exact release dates just feature placeholders. May 23 is not a frequently used placeholder, and when taking into account that two different retailers went for that same release date, it would be hard for fans to not get at least a little bit excited.
It also helps that May 23 fits right into that early 2018 release window, so it remains plausible even when accounting for what the developers have announced thus far.
For now, fans are just going to have wait and see if May 23 really will be the day when they will be able to rejoin Kratos and meet his son Atreus. In the meantime, they can learn more about the game's Norse mythology-inspired setting and prepare for the creatures that call this realm home.
More news about the "God of War" PS4 game should be made available soon.
