Golden State Warriors News: President Obama 'Glad' It Was Warriors Who Were Able to Break '95 Bulls' Record
On Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors were able to set their own NBA record by toppling the previous one set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team.
The Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies at home in their last game of the season with a final score of 125-104, ending the current NBA season with a record of 73-9. The Bulls ended the 95-96 season with a win-loss slate of 72-10.
It was a challenge that the Warriors welcomed, particularly when Michael Jordan himself spoke to power forward Draymond Green, urging the latter to go grab the said feat, or else he would be blamed.

"Mike [Jordan] told me at all-star, 'Go win the record. Go get the record. If y'all don't win this record, I'm going to be hot and I'm blaming you,'" Green said in a report by Sports Illustrated, relaying how his conversation with Jordan went.
The Warriors did end up living up to their end of the deal, and as expected, it was reigning Most Valuable Player awardee Stephen Curry who sparked up the run for his team.
He ended the game with 46 points, along with four rebounds, six assists and two steals, shot 15 out of 24 from the field, 10 out of 19 from three-point country, playing through 29 minutes of action.
Curry was simply satisfied with Golden State's performance, and is hopeful that they would be able to carry over the momentum to the playoffs this weekend.
"We love winning. We love to compete and to push ourselves, and that's what pushed us to the opportunity we had tonight, and hopefully we'll continue this weekend when we get the playoffs started," Curry said in a report by the Guardian.
Many were amazed at the accomplishment the Warriors' recently put up. One of the individuals who sent their congratulatory messages was none other the President of the United States himself, Barack Obama.
In a tweet he posted after the game, President Obama, who happens to be a long-time Bulls fan, sent this message for the Warriors.
"Congrats to the @Warriors, a great group of guys on and off the court. If somebody had to break the Bulls' record, I'm glad it's them."
