Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers - It's Win or Go Home: Game 5 Preview for May 11, 2016
The Warriors lead 3-1
Looking to close out the series, the Golden State Warriors go back home to welcome the Portland Trail Blazers at the ORACLE Arena in Game 5 of their Western Conference 2016 Playoffs battle.
The NBA matchup is on May 11, 2016 at 10:30 PM ET.
It has been a very thrilling series thus far, despite the Warriors leading 3-1. The defending champions are only one win away from reaching the Western Conference Finals but it has not been easy.
Portland have been surprisingly competitive in the series and have led in various points of the series which shows that they can get a win against the Warriors.
Golden State may have struggled since Stephen Curry's injury, but in his return in Game 4, he showed that he didn't need to get his groove on because he dominated to help the Warriors get a big win on the road.
In Game 4, Curry came from off the bench and started slow, even hitting an air ball from a three point attempt.
But never one to give up on his play, the two-time Most Valuable Player continued to fire shots until it eventually fell in.
By the end of the game, he had 40 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
For Portland, Damian Lillard did his best with 36 points, six rebounds and 10 assists, but they simply could not stop the Warriors especially during overtime.
It was Curry who finished off the game, scoring 17 of the Warriors' 21 points in the extra period to help them win 132-125.
Now they have the chance to clinch the win at home and get some rest while waiting for the other series in the West to conclude.
As for the Blazers, they have their backs against the wall and they know that in order to stay alive, they need to win on the road in a tough place to head back home.
Despite the odds being against them, look for Portland to do the near impossible and get a victory in Oakland.
