Golf Shot Hits Wife: Sunglasses Saved Her Eyesight
During a golf outing, a U.S. Olympic skier accidentally hit his wife in the head with an errant tee shot. She had to be rushed to a hospital, where she received several dozen stitches.
Skier Bode Miller was playing a round of golf in San Diego with his wife on Wednesday when his line drive tee shot hit his wife, Morgan Miller, just above her left eye.
The impact left a severe laceration above her left eye that reportedly took in excess of 50 stitches to close. It has been reported that her left eye was saved because she was wearing sunglasses at the time, minimizing the impact just enough, according to NESN.

Bode Miller was the 2005 and 2008 skiing World Cup champion and a 5-time Olympic medalist. His wife is a professional beach volleyball player. The pair just recently married in October of this year, but it is safe to assume that the honeymoon is now officially over.
The couple has taken the incident in stride and has continually keep fans abreast of the situation on Twitter.
"I'm not feeling so hot. Line drive to the face today with a golf ball from my darling husband. I still love him but ouch," Miller wrote.
On Thursday Bode explained that her surgery had gone well.
"She's a trooper, the docs did a great job, thanks UCSDHealth. she is doing Ok, surgery went well, should be 100%. Thanks."
Morgan seemed to be in high spirits and was taking open suggestions from fans for her husband.
"Feeling better today. Still can't see out off left eye but I am getting some feeling back in my face. Also a huge thank u 2 everyone wishing me a speedy recovery. I have my husband by my side listening 2 all ur suggestions so keep them coming," she wrote.
