Google Drops Nexus 5X and 6P Prices in Valentine's Day Promo
Google has launched a Valentine's Day promo for fans of the Nexus 5X and 6P smartphones, cutting their prices by $50.
The Nexus 5X was originally priced at $379, and Google had earlier cut it down to $349. As if that was not enough, the tech giant has once again reduced the price of the smartphone to just $299 as part of its Valentine's Day promo, according to Mashable.
Customers who buy a Nexus 5X will be able to receive a freebie in the form of a phone case, the report adds.
The Valentine's Day promo is expected to give Google and advantage over Motorola, OnePlus, and other upper-midrange competitors. As of the moment, the Nexus 5X is still out of stock, so buyers will have to wait until the next batch arrives, Engadget reports.
In addition, Google has revealed a $50 discount for the matte gold variant of the Nexus 6P. The discount does not stop there, because those who purchase the 6P can avail of another $50 discount if they buy a Huawei Watch.
For Nexus fans in Europe, Google also has extended the promo there, and the discounts are even steeper. For a limited time, customers will be able to enjoy an €80 ($87) discount for the Nexus 5X. The original price of €429 ($467) has been reduced to €349 ($380), the report details.
The price cut for the Nexus 5X seems to be uniform across all European countries. But while the U.S. and European Nexus fans are rejoicing over the price slash, the United Kingdom appears to have been left out from the Valentine's Day discount as there is no announcement about price cuts there, the report relays.
In the United Kingdom, the starting price of the Nexus 5X is at £299 ($426). The Nexus 6P's price, on the other hand, starts at £449 ($640).
Google's Valentine's Day promo for the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P is valid from Jan. 26 up to Feb. 14 only.
