Google LG Nexus 5 (2015) and Huawei Nexus 6 News: September Release Date Eyed
Google is set to release its two new smartphones, the LG Nexus 5 (2015) and the Huawei Nexus 6 during a special event near the end of this month.
After months of speculation and rumors about Google's two upcoming smartphones, the LG Google Nexus 5 (2015) and the Huawei Nexus 6, news has emerged the two handsets will be officially introduced at a special event on September 29 in San Francisco, and represent the first time Google is unveiling two devices in the same year.
LG will be making its return with a second generation Nexus device, and will be joined by Chinese multinational tech manufacturer Huawei with its first Google Nexus handset.
Succeeding the Nexus 4 and the first generation Nexus 5 with its plastic framework bodies and mediocre cameras, LG's Nexus 5 (2015), also dubbed the Nexus 5X, will be launching with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board.
With a 5.2-inch 1080 display, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset and an Adreno 418 GPU, it will be supported by 3GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB internal storage options. The LG Nexus 5 (2015) will sport a 12.3MP rear camera with a 5MP front snapper, and feature a USB Type C port, as well as a 2,700mAh battery.
Based on leaked renders showing the back portion of the handset, the LG Nexus 5 will come with a circle-shaped fingerprint scanner below a slightly protruding main camera set in a black-and-white two-tone color combination on a build slimmer than its predecessor's.
The Huawei Nexus 6 on the other hand is said to feature a 5.7-inch QHD display over a Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB of RAM.
Sporting a heavy-duty 21MP rear camera with a large lens, dual-LED flash, and laser autofocus, the smartphone will be packed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow when it arrives in the market, and power up via a 3,500mAh battery.
Based on leaked images, the handset reveals a plain front offset by a metallic and multi-layered rear panel.
Both devices are expected to feature Android Pay and the new Google Wallet when they launch near the end of the month.
