Google Nexus 7 (2016) Release Date & Update: To Come with Android N?
Those who have been on the constant lookout for the Google Nexus 7 (2016) may be in for a treat as reports say that it may be coming very soon. As detailed in Yibada, the said device is reportedly coming at the company's annual I/O Developer's Conference which will take place this May already. There is no official announcement for it though so fans who are interested with getting the device will need to stay tuned for updates.
Nonetheless, there are several rumors going around including which brand will be Google's third party manufacturer. The information is still unknown until now but there are speculations that it could be HTC's turn to make the next Nexus device. China Topix noted that the Taiwan-based company once partnered with Google to make the HTC Nexus 9 tablet. This makes the firm a potential candidate. But then there are also other rumors saying that LG could be given the task to make the Nexus 7 (2016). After all, it was LG who produced the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Anything can happen though so fans will have to wait then.
As for the device's specs and features, not much has been revealed yet but rumors say that it could carry a 5.1-inch display. It's also said to have a Snapdragon 820 and a RAM count of 4 GB. Many are also suggesting that the new Nexus model could be the first handset that will carry the upcoming software Android N. Christian Today reported that since Google has released already the second preview for the platform, it could mean that its release date is fast approaching.
This has also lead to the speculation about both the device and the platform getting launched during the I/O Developers conference. None of the information is confirmed though so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
