Google Nexus 8 Rumors: Alleged Dummy Device Spotted in China
Amid rumors of two Google devices in progress, alleged images of a Google Nexus 8 dummy surfaced in China.
With the imminent release of Google's new devices, the LG Nexus 5 (2015), and the Huawei Nexus 6 reported to be launched near the end of September, photos of what appear to be a dummy of the Google Nexus 8 leaked online after it was sighted in China.
The images follow speculations Google is working on another tablet it is planning to launch together with the LG Nexus 5 and Huawei Nexus 6 next month.

The red and black dummy device, laid down next to a ruler, shows an 8-inch tablet with a square-ish Nexus 9-like design and a metal frame. On one chamfered side, slanted slots that look like a speaker grille emerge towards the bottom.
Appearing similar to the Nexus 7 (2013), the front has an opening for what could be the tablet's home button, a fingerprint reader, or merely a white sticker covering up pertinent information.
According to information culled from a GeekBench listing, the Google Nexus 8 tablet, going under the codename "Colorfly Hero," suggests European importer Colorfly will be manufacturing the device, and will be providing the tablet's motherboard. However, the listing did not mention which manufacturer will be building the tablet, although there may be a good chance Google may turn to HTC to assemble their next slate.
The Google Nexus 8 will supposedly run on a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor with a MediaTek chipset, and carry Android 5.1.1, based on its benchmark entry early on in the tablet's development. However, with the advent of Android 6.0, the device is likely to run Marshmallow when it is released in the market.
The Google Nexus 8 GeekBench entry is yet to be proven as genuine.
