Google Nexus Prime Release Date: Full Specs Revealed
The first smartphone running on Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is almost here, and tech site, BGR.com gave a complete list of the Google Nexus Prime’s specs.
First, the Nexus Prime will include the new Android software called Ice Cream Sandwich, an operating system which will combine the best of both Gingerbread and Honeycomb OS.
Along with that, the Nexus will be approximately 9mm thin.
It will sport a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pizel Super AMOLED HD display with curved glass.
Its processor is a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.
Like most of the newer smartphones, the Nexus will include 1GB of RAM which gives a device a significant speed boost and allows it to multi-task much more efficiently.
It will be capable of storing 32GB of media.
Unlike the Galaxy S2, HTC Amaze and Apple’s iPhone 4S, the camera on the Google Nexus Prime will only be 5-megapixels, but according to BGR, it is still capable video in 1080p HD.
It either runs on LTE or HSPA depending on the carrier.
Naturally the device is Wi-Fi ready and supports NFC, (near-field communications).
The device also includes a 1,750 mAh battery.
“We have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be a pure Google Experience device without any third-party UI or modifications, so no TouchWiz on this one, guys,” wrote BGR.
The new Ice Cream Sandwich also sports an impressive feature that allows the user to monitor each app’s data usage on the device.
According to the BGR, the Nexus will be a Verizon Wireless exclusive in the U.S.
AT&T, Verizon and Sprint are both launching the iPhone 4S on October 14.
It seems like this is the season for all the hot smart phones.
Samsung plans to unveil the Nexus Prime at its Mobile Unpacked event next week.
