Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL News: On the Bezels, New Processor, and Release Dates

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL may be disappointing for fans who were expecting the search giant to keep up with Apple and Samsung's releases in terms of display.

Unfortunately, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL still features the same aesthetic as the ones seen last year. Furthermore, the Pixel 2 will cost $649, which is notably $50 less than the iPhone 8.Predictions indicate that it might not sell well in a market looking for a near bezel-less smartphone and topo of the line display.

Considering the current competition in the smartphone market, companies are working hard to keep up with the latest flagships from Apple and Samsung. Recently, Google held their annual event, which unveiled the highly anticipated Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Given the features that the iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 boasts, fans are curious as to what might the new lineups by Google offer that cannot be found on any other phone.

Meanwhile, Expert Reviews noted that although the exterior of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL did not change, the interior received a much-needed upgrade. Now sporting Snapdragon's 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are expected to top the market when it comes to performance. Both smartphones also received a camera upgrade in the form of optical image stabilization features for the 12-megapixel rear camera.

Though it is too early to give a verdict on whether or not fans should buy the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, most critics were disappointed that it still features the same aesthetic as their predecessors. Regardless, fans are encouraged to wait for in-depth reviews of the handsets.

The Google Pixel 2 will be released on Oct. 19, while the Google Pixel 2 XL will be released on Nov. 15.
