Google Pixel C Tablet Release Date & Specs: Device Now Available, Comes With 10.2-Inch Display, 3 GB of RAM
A hybrid laptop and tablet device has been released and is expected to go up against the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple iPad Pro. As Android Headlines had earlier reported, since the Google Pixel C had already gone through benchmarking by GFXBench and Geekbench, two popular tests, it was only a matter of time before the company made it available for purchase.
People can now buy the Google Pixel C in the Google Store. It is said to be the first tablet that the company had designed and produced on its own. Tech Radar had earlier reported that the Dutch site Tweakers had talked about a Dec. 8 release and as it turns out, they were correct.
Some of the specs and features of the device have already been revealed through the official announcement. The benchmark results also provided more information on what people could expect with the Pixel C. Now that the device has finally been launched, its specs are now available for consumers to think about.
Through Geekbench, it was known that the Pixel C would have a NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor and this was confirmed when the device was released. It also has the Android 6.0 Marshmallow as its operating system.
Slash Gear noted that the 2-in-1 tablet hybrid has 3 GB of RAM only. It also said that the device was being poised as a productivity device just like the Chromebook Pixel. With a display screen sized at 10.2-inches, its resolution display is 2560 x 1800 at 308 PPI. It comes with a USB Type-C port to allow for connecting wires easily but its fancy magnetic keyboard is connected via Bluetooth.
The Pixel C has an 8 MP rear camera. Its front camera is 2 MP. It also has a 256-core Maxwell GPU to handle graphics.
The Google Pixel C is available with 32 GB and 64 GB versions which are priced at $499 and $599 respectively. The keyboard dock costs $149.
