Google Plus Hits 18M, Suggests Facebook Users Ready to Migrate? Poll
If the latest report from Paul Allen, founder of Ancestry.com and independent Google+ statist, are accurate, then the Google+ user-base now stands at 18 million and counting.
If they are true, then Google+ plus gained a jaw-breaking eight million users since Google CEO Larry Page confirmed the Google+ user-base to be 10 million users in Google's 2011 Q2 Earnings conference call on July 14.
One could argue that Allen's statistics could definitely be flawed, but one thing that gives his statistics and method some legitimate weight is the fact that he correctly estimated 10 million Google+ users even before Larry Page announced it last week.

Allen's method of counting the number of Google+ users using a certain surname and comparing it to the number of people possessing the same surname in U.S. census records gives him a ratio number he uses to calculate the total number of users. And according to this ratio, although Google+ continues to have explosive growth, the rate of growth has started showing signs of slowing down.
"Last week we saw two days where more than 2 million signed up in a single day. If that rate had continued, Google+ would have reached 20 million users by last Sunday night. But the last four days have averaged only 948,000 new users and yesterday the site added only 763,000. Yesterday's growth of 4.47% was the slowest viral growth since Google opened up invites back on July 6th," reads Allen's Google+ post.
If the rate were to be maintained at 763,000 new users per day, then Google+ would take approximately four to five months for it to reach 100 million users.
Facebook on the other hand claims to have 750 million active users or about 732 million if the 18 million users mentioned migrated to Google+.
In recent polls conducted by The Christian Post, more than 40 percent of 10,000 people stated that they believe Google+ would dethrone Facebook as the biggest social network while the other 40 percent believed that Google+ and Facebook would co-exist.
The following poll is an unofficial and unscientific poll aimed to measure how many Facebook users so far have definitely migrated to Google+.
