Google Sends Out Free Home Mini Codes for Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL Buyers

Google promised free Home Minis for early adopters of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and the company is following through by sending out emails with discount codes for the smart home device.

The Google Home Mini is the smallest smart speaker the company had produced since they announced the device back in October. Even with its ultra-compact size, this device is still a full-fledged Google Assistant device that works much the same way as its larger counterpart, the Google Home.

Customers who have pre-ordered the Pixel or the Pixel 2 XL by the time the flagship phones launched can confirm if they qualified for the free Google Home Mini speaker. The miniature home assistants, each of which retails for about $50 at their regular price, are expected to ship out around four weeks after the delivery date of the new Pixel handsets, according to Android Authority.

There were some reports that the promo will only have free Google Home Minis in their standard, off-white Chalk color as part of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL pre-order bonus. Users, however, are reporting that when they click on the link provided in Google's email, they have been offered their free Google Home mini in multiple colors.

Pixel buyers have successfully secured the Charcoal model, the black variant that's been much in demand since the smaller home assistant was first announced. Some users even reported that the Google Store exclusive Coral variant was being offered, as well.

Users just need to follow the link provided in the email, which will take them directly to the Google Store, according to 9 to 5 Google. From there, as long as it's the same Google account, users can just take their pick of color and supply their shipping address before clicking order.

The cart will show a reward item from Google that discounts the Home Mini down to zero, as long as the code is used before its due to expire on Feb. 18, 2018.
