Google's 4K Chromecast and Daydream VR Headset Release Date and Updates: Google Offerings Coming This October 4
New Google phones, home devices and VR gadget set to wow audience in the October hardware-related event.
In the upcoming tech event set in October 4, 2016, Google will finally launch its new line of Pixel smartphones as well as a new and improved 4K –capable Chromecast. It will also be the event when the new Google Daydream VR device will be launched. Reports say that this event will finally reveal the company's new line of phones alongside their features and specs plus other surprises from Google.
Pixel and Pixel XL
Former Google Nexus phones will now be called Pixel and the Pixel and the Pixel XL will soon be available for customers. These Pixel phones were once Marlin and Sailfish and will also be built by HTC minus the HTC branding.
Reports say that the Pixel and the Pixel XL will have the most cohesive design with lots of Google features. The two devices will be identical in everything except for their sizes, battery capacity and display resolution. Pixel has a 5-inch screen while the XL has a 5.5-inch screen. The price, more specs, details and the release dates of these Google phones are still to be announced on a latter date.
New Google Home
Google Home is said to rival Amazon's Echo and it is set to come out later this year. Google has long announced this and even suggest users to sign up to be notified of updates for Google Home.
Google Home is the brainchild of the creator of Chromecast and is actually a small speaker that is always listening for commands. It can answer any question, because its Google, can play music and lets users control their home devices and appliance using voice recognition.
Compared to Echo, creator Mario Querioz said that it can do almost anything that the Echo can do, even better. Google Home is fully customizable with a modular case and base shells to match a home's décor and LED lights to let users know that the unit is working. Google is also reported to be working on a set of home automation devices to work with Google Home.
The price of Google Home and its exact release date are yet to be announced on a latter date. Details of the hardware-focused convention are still on the works. All that is known so far is that the new Chromecast has been upgraded to Chromecast Ultra or Chromecast Plus. To prepare for the event, Google has been supporting YouTube personalities to help them launch their new products.
