GoPro Hero 5 Release Date Set Back To October 2016
The GoPro Hero 5 is a much-anticipated device that fans are looking forward to buy since last year. Unfortunately, the market might have to wait longer as recent rumors suggest a delay in GoPro Hero 5's release date for various reasons.
Previous rumors had initially pegged the device's launch in October 2015 and then was delayed to release "sometime in the early months of this year." Now the latest report from Day Herald puts the release date to October 2016.
According to the publication, GoPro needs more time to plan the launch of its fifth-generation camera and ensure it will be a success. It adds that stakeholders don't want the upcoming GoPro product to suffer the same fate as the Hero 4.

The GoPro Hero 4 debut in 2014 for $399. Since then, the gadget's price has been slashed to $199.99, a decrease of 50 percent. Value Walk points to the company's pricing for the device as the culprit for its failure.
To ensure the next GoPro will be a success, Value Walk reports that Hero 5 has been delayed so the company can add more features to it. The publication also adds that GoPro is still working on making the camera "small enough" to work with the company's Karma drone.
The new rumor regarding the GoPro Hero 5's pairing with the Karma drone is in line with previous speculations. In January, it was reported that the camera is being designed to fit into the Karma drone, which is the company's first foray into the drone market. In December, GoPro released a video (below) titled "Karma is Coming." However, the video didn't show an image of the drone, only some aerial photography shots.
A previous comment from GoPro Chief Executive Officer Nick Woodman sparked speculation that the Karma drone will work with older GoPro models. Woodman had said how the company makes everything backward compatible.
Needless to say, these information lack official confirmation, so take them with a grain of salt.
