During the concert, the Klaudt Foundation will be introducing their first scholarship, which will be presented to a Native American student attending Lee University.
We want to give back to Lee University, because it has meant so much to our family, said Kenneth Klaudt, but mostly, we want to honor our heritage and the legacy our parents left in gospel music.
The Klaudt ministry began with R.H. and Lillian Klaudt on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota in the late 1920s. The family traveled as evangelists and musicians for 50 years, known as the Klaudt Indian Family musicians. Throughout the 1950s and 60s, the entire family attend Lee University, then called Lee College, to further their education. They retired their ministry in the early 80s.
The Klaudt Brothers will gather at the concert for what will be possibly their last performance.
