'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers: The Court of Owls Gears Up to Change Bruce Wayne Forever
After successfully dealing with Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) will have to gear up for the coming of a much bigger enemy. Spoilers for "Gotham" season 3 suggest that while the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) is officially in Gotham, Bruce will go head-to-head with other villains when the series returns.
Before the series went on hiatus, Bruce dealt with Jerome in the iconic Hall of Mirrors. The hero managed to catch Jerome without violence as he unleashed the Dark Knight in him. When the series returns, Jerome is most likely already out of the picture. However, Bruce still has a bigger evil coming his way.
Based on spoilers for the future episodes, Bruce will take in hand the Court of Owls as they get ready to take the center stage. Now that Jerome is already gone, the group that is responsible for pulling the strings from underneath the city of Gotham will brace themselves to fight Bruce.
While the Court of Owls has not been visible in Batman's comic book lore, its members are the ones behind most of the worst crimes ever committed in the city. In fact, the group is responsible for the death of Bruce's parents, a fact Bruce has yet to discover.
In his interview with TV Guide, Mazouz revealed that the group will be very much visible in the next part of the current season as they carry out sinister acts in Gotham. The actor hinted that the Court of Owls will do something to his character that will affect him emotionally. "They do something to him that will change him forever, emotionally. There are some very, very emotional things that happen to Bruce," he said.
Spoilers also suggest that the Court of Owls will try to convince the people of Gotham that the hero is actually one of them. At this point in the series, the group has its claws on Bruce's doppelganger so it is easier for them to make the people believe that he is a member of the Court of Owls.
"Gotham" season 3 returns on Monday, April 24 on FOX.
