'Gran Turismo Sport' Gameplay News: Formula One World Champ Lewis Hamilton to Appear as In-Game Driving Instructor

A new in-game driving instructor is coming to "Gran Turismo Sport," and he is undoubtedly going to be a great addition to the sports video game. Earlier last week, game developer Polyphony confirmed that three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton would appear in the game to provide valuable insight to players.

Driving aficionados know Hamilton as a three-time Formula One World Champion who competes for the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team. Aside from being a dog lover, the professional driver is also known for his multiple feats in the field of driving, so it will certainly be a plus to "Gran Turismo" players if he will appear to help players achieve their digital driving ambitions.

According to the makers of the game, Hamilton will soon appear as a mentor and maestro in the game, providing tips to players and assisting them with their driving needs. As a driving instructor, he is expected to share his driving philosophy and techniques to help players become the proficient driver that he is today. The game will soon feature Hamilton's driving images, theories, and "episodes," as well as an interview footage with him, which will include some pieces of advice that he would like to give "Gran Turismo" players who want to be as quick as him.

In a recent interview with Hamilton, he shared how excited he is to be part of the popular driving game. "I have been playing 'Gran Turismo' since I was a child, so to actually be part of the gameplay design has been an incredible experience," he said.

"Gran Turismo" creator Kazunori Yamauchi also said he's glad to share Hamilton's driving philosophy with players. "From watching Lewis drive on TV all these years, I had an idea of how he might drive, but the experience of watching him drive in person was well beyond my wildest expectations," Yamauchi explained.

"Gran Turismo Sport" will be out on PlayStation 4 on Oct. 17.
