'Grand Theft Auto 5' 1.29 Update News: Freemode and Rockstar Editor Added (VIDEO)
Rockstar's 1.29 update arrived for "Grand Theft Auto V" last week, bringing with it a Rockstar Editor and new Freemode events.
Rockstar Games' open-world action adventure heist video game finally unloaded its patch 1.29, giving users their long-awaited Rockstar Editor for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with other new events in Freemode.
Announced since early September, patch 1.29 gave console players the much-anticipated Rockstar Editor which was initially exclusive for "GTA" PC gamers. The Freemode events, which were earlier criticized as not giving players much to do, has already become a popular topic of discussion in "GTA" forums due to its multiple events.
While previous Freemode options forced players to embark on missions to experience gameplay fun, as well as wait for GTA Online's notoriously lengthy load times, the 1.29 update presents a sweeping open-world Freemode with a number of events players can jump into as the mood suits them.
Moreover, the much-despised loading times have been dispensed with, putting an end to players' complaints the lag put them frequently out of time. The new Freemode included in the patch allows players to simply drive to the event they wish to be and join in.
Players will be able to start off on any number of Freemode events, including "Moving Target," "Hot Property," "King of the Castle," and "Hunt the Beast." Detailed information on these events have been made available on Rockstar's Patch Notes for update 1.29 to give players an edge over what to expect.
Patch 1.29 has also brought other smaller additions and changes to both "GTA V" and GTA Online, including new Adversary Mode Jobs that unlock at Rank 12 like the "Hunting Pack" and "Cross the Line" for GTA Online. The new update also offers ambient sound effects, freezing the time of day, taking Snapmatic images in Editor, copy-pasting marker properties, spawning vehicles from hangars or marinas while in Director Mode, a new minimap, 10 new fonts, and new Trophies and Achievements, among a list of other additions and fixes.
Unfortunately, the update is exclusively targeted for PC, PS4 and Xbox One players, as Rockstar had earlier ended post-launch support for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of "GTA V."
