Grand Theft Auto Online: Rockstar Games Apologizes for Server Issues, Offers Email Updates

Grand Theft Auto 5 launched their online play mode on Tuesday, and after multiple issues with servers, Rockstar Games is issuing an apology.

"We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this," Rockstar Games said on its support site.

Gamers were having trouble logging on and being able to access the game. On the game's site they are offering a signup to be sent emails when updates were made to the online game.

"One thing we are already aware of, and are trying to alleviate as fast as we can, is the unanticipated additional pressure on the servers due to a significantly higher number of players than we were anticipating at this point," Rockstar said last week, anticipating the mass popularity of the game. "We are working around the clock to buy and add more servers, but this increased scale is only going to make the first few days even more temperamental than such things usually are."

As GTA figures out their online dilemmas, their next order of business may be to bring the game online.
Alleged screenshots were leaked earlier this week, and now fans of the game are uniting to try and petition Rockstar Games to port the game to the PC.

The petition is looking to garner one million signatures and it is already over 500,000 in just a week, according to The Guardian.

The petition reads:

"Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people's lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have. I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it'll make many people very happy!"

Fans need not worry, because Rockstar almost always puts out a PC version of their games, with GTA IV coming to PC eight months after its console release.

The game has been a smash success as it made over a billion dollars just three days after its release.
