Greg Kelly Rape Accusations: Son of NYPD Commissioner Facing Investigation
Greg Kelly has been accused of rape; he is the son of New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.
Kelly is currently under investigation by the District Attorney for an alleged rape that took place in October. A young woman in her 30s went to the police last night with her story, and the case was immediately handed over to Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., New York's District Attorney.
The young woman stated that she and Kelly met for drinks on Oct. 8 and went back to her office, where the rape occurred, according to reports. The woman's boyfriend learned of the rape and approached Commissioner Kelly, who told him to write a letter of complaint.
Greg Kelly's lawyer, Andrew Lankler, has issued the following statement: "Mr. Kelly is aware that the New York County District Attorney's office is conducting an investigation. Mr. Kelly strongly denies any wrongdoing of any kind and is cooperating fully with the district attorney's investigation. We know the district attorney's investigation will prove Mr. Kelly's innocence."
Kelly is a co-host of Fox TV's "Good Day New York." Before that he served as a co-host of "Fox and Friends" and was a White House correspondent for Fox.
Twitter has been quite active, with users such as Tiffani Renee tweeting her support "WOW! Saddened this a.m. Hope all will work out 4 u, Greg Kelly! You'll beat this!"
Others, however, voice that they believe the woman's story. User Valerie tweeted, "I kinda (sic) believe that story about Greg Kelly" and Eddienet stated, "We need to see the evidence."
